must have

My olive military vest is in full rotation. It’s the perfect transition piece, light enough to add layers, but not warmth, and lays nicely over dresses, button downs and blouses. Once it gets a little cooler, it will be perfect for over sweaters as well. If you don’t have one, you should get one, I think you will be surprised at how much you wear it.

something missing

A piece that remains missing from my closet is a classic trench. I love the look, but have never gotten around to purchasing one, and the weather here doesn’t call for this type of piece too often. The fall looks for Zara are amazing and this trench is calling my name. I love the shape and the details, and the fact it looks, oh so similar, to a fancy Burberry one, that I’ve loved forever.

wear this, with that

While browsing the racks at a local boutique yesterday a lady approached me, saying she loved how well my bag and shoes went together. I took the compliment, but was taken back, because there is no way I thought about that as I was getting dressed. I’m not a real matchy, matchy person but the combination I was wearing went well, without perfectly matching. Here are a few combinations that do just the same.

gypset travel

I did a post a few weeks back {seen here} on outfit inspiration by way of books. This is another book I recently came across {it has rave reviews} and the photos are absolutely fabulous. Makes me want to slip on a long dress and put a few flowers in my hair, so perfect for summer!
