friday finds {Wimbledon Wear}

I played a lot of tennis growing up, and by a lot, I mean every night, every weekend, traveling somewhere to play someone. This time of year I get hooked to watching tennis. I visited Wimbledon once as a child, and I have hopes to go back one day as an adult {I will go back just not sure when}. With Wimbledon coming to a close, I can’t help but think what I would wear if {when} I get the chance to go back.

top, pants, hat, sunglasses, bracelet, purse

friday finds {less is more}

I’ve said it before and I will probably say it a million more times this summer, it is HOT. And by hot, I mean I don’t want to see a sleeve or pant leg for a while! With that being said, sandals are my go to for during the day. Anything else would be, well, just too hot! Here are a few pair I am currently loving!

1. Piperlime $29.99

2. Zara $49.99

3. Steve Madden $62.98

4. Steve Madden $29.95

friday finds {worn}

I wore my skull scarf today, over a simple black maxi dress, and received so many complements and comments. I featured the scarf a while back {here}, but now I am seeing the trend everywhere! Even though summer is upon us, a lightweight scarf can be the perfect addition to a simple outfit, and also perfect for traveling. When traveling the scarf can double as swimsuit cover up when worn around your waist!

friday finds {currently craving}

It’s getting hot down south, and by hot, I mean you walk out of the door and feel like you immediately need to get to the nearest air-conditioned building! Summertime down here calls for casual, cool and carefree looks. My go to is loose-fitting dresses and I am in the market for a few new ones. Here are several looks I’m currently craving!

stripe and neon, green dots, red dots, blue stripes, bow striped maxi

friday finds {made}

The summer heat is slowly kicking up down South, and there is nothing better than a refreshing beverage to cool you off.  I made my first batch of lemon ice cubes this week and I know more are to come. I’m sure you seen this all over, but it’s worth sharing! And don’t be afraid to experiment with fruit. I’ve used oranges, blueberries and strawberries. Always a great flavor addition to water, tea, lemonade and specialty cocktails too.

friday finds {found}

Today kicks off the two weekend long Jazz and Heritage Festival here in New Orleans. For the last several weeks, I have been searching for the perfect floral shorts to add to my festival wear line up. Well look no further, cause they have been found! I absolutely love these shorts, the fit is great and the price is even better {gotta love LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s}! I highly suggest you snag a pair as well if you are in the market!

Follow me on twitter and instagram {@luckygirlfinds} to keep up with my festival weekend!

friday finds {purchased}

I went a little overboard on the shopping this week {see below}, but couldn’t resist with sales all around! If you are looking at shopping over the weekend, I made out really well at Old Navy {additional 30% off when you use your Old Navy/Gap/Banana card, and take 20% if you don’t have a card} and J.Crew {additional 30% all sale items}. Oh and I also snuck in this fabulous dress from Piperlime!

One thing to remember when online shopping ALWAYS search for a coupon code before you check out, even if it’s just for free shipping! You will be surprised how much you can save from a little coupon found online!

{stripes on sale}

{sandals and flowy clothing}

J.Crew: Maxi Dress, Neon Striped Sweater

Piperlime: Dress

Old Navy: Skirt, Top, Flip-Flops, Sandals

One of the positive notes of being in a long distance relationship is the handwritten letters that come in the mail. It is always a pleasant surprise, and so meaningful. I have received so many great cards and some of them are truly pieces of art, especially the letterpress ones. I received a card recently that brought such a smile to my face I couldn’t bare to put it away in a drawer with the rest of them. I purchased a simple frame, and now the card sits out as a daily reminder that continuously makes me smile!

Cards can so easily be turned into art. So think before you throw that next card away or pass up the card aisle, you may find something that would look great in your home! And think about multiples, they would look great hanging in a group! {one thing to be aware of, make sure if the card is personal you don’t have to cut it to fit the frame, you don’t want to lose the note that it contains inside}
