Face Update

I recently ventured out of my comfort zone in the world of beauty products. I tend to have sensitive skin that breaks out with the use of any new product and have remained consistent in my routine. In the world we live in today we are constantly bombarded with new products {ie instagram ads and influencer content}- that are filled with promises to be the next best thing. I fell for a few of those and have been pleasantly surprised with the results.

I ordered several things from Beautycounter and the eye cream and dew skin have been my favorite. Right after you put on the dew skin – think moisturizing coverage – you literally get the dewy skin of a super model! When I recently went on vacation it was the only thing I put on my skin during the day.

The Summer Friday’s Jet Lag face mask is a favorite! I use it every, single night. You can use it as a mask or use it like a moisturizer; I prefer the latter. It is super hydrating and smell great too.

Have you tried any new facial products? Would love to know which ones you love.

lipstick tip

I did something I haven’t done in forever, and I have to admit I kinda liked it. I stopped at a makeup counter and experimented with lots of colors and a very playful makeup artist, who let me in on a few of her secrets.I have to say I am completely in love with the new colors and products I tried (and purchased) from Clinique. The lip color is by far my favorite. I may have looked ridiculous running errands in this bright color afterwards but I was SO impressed by the long-lasting wear and the color, I had to share.

I went with the brightest red they had, and to top is off, the makeup artist applied a bold lip liner (in a similar shade) to set the look, after applying the lipstick, who knew to apply lip liner after the fact. My lips looked amazing.

friday finds: kismet

How is October just a few days away?! I didn’t get to soak up as much sun as I would have liked this summer, but I can keep a glow thanks to Kismet Opulent. I have never been one to spray tan or hit the tanning beds, but a streak free glow for one night, count me in! This is by far the best bronzing lotion I have tried, no strong smell, applies evenly and doesn’t rub off {little black dress & white dress tested}. If you are looking for a “one night highlight” this is the perfect lotion! And I can’t forget to mention, it’s only $19 a bottle!

double duty

One of my biggest pet peeves is ponytail holders on the wrist. Especially at a formal event or even on a job interview. Can’t you leave that in your purse? When I came across these ponytail holders, I changed my mind, and I too immediately wanted to wear these ponytail holders on my wrist {in addition to all my other bracelets}. So stylish and functional. Anything that serves a double duty is worth purchasing in my book!

perfect shade for September

Well hello September, can’t believe you’re already here. I’m looking forward to the long weekend you bring with you {but first a fresh mani/pedi}! This time of year can always be difficult for nail polish. I’m over the brights and pastels but not ready for the darker shades. I recently came across the perfect transition color {goes on a little more gray than the picture shown} at my local drugstore and I have it on my nails since.
